It was never in God's design that His creatures would need to worry about their weight. The food provided for man in the Garden of Eden and Adam and Eve's control of appetite met the requirements of weight control naturally. Many people spend lots of money to try to lose some few extra kgs and yet they have the only sure method at their disposal in the Bible and it is free. God's plan incorporates all of His eight laws of Health, Exercise, Air, Sunlight, and Water, Rest, and Trust in Divine Power when combined with proper Nutrition and Temperance will lead to reestablishing a normal weight.

Being overweight is usually simply the result of overeating that is eating more calories than your body can burn up, the result is the addition of more fat to the adipose tissue and gain in weight.
- Overeating has a worse effect upon the system than overworking. The brain nerve is benumbed and almost paralyzed by overeating.
- Those who continually overeat seeking to satisfy appetite rather than hunger will experience what is known as the 'all gone feeling'it may be accompanied by faithlessness and a desire for frequent eating. Since putting food into the stomach relieves this sense of emptiness, they mistakenly believe it was hunger they were experiencing.
- The 'all gone feeling' is caused by the over worked condition of the abused digestive organs.
- When you are obese the stomach becomes debilitated, the digestive organs are weakened and disease with all its train of evils is brought into the system.
- Being obese the liver becomes burdened and unable to throw of the impurities in the blood.
BEING OVERWEIGHT IS DANGEROUS - Vital functions of the circulatory pulmonary and digestive system, genital organs, and muscles are hindered because of crowding from excess fat.
- The nervous system functions improperly because of reduced availability of proper glycogen stores, reduced oxygen carrying capacity of the blood, and reduced ability to transport oxygen from the lungs to the brain. This condition of the body causes many to lose in the battle for the mind.
- Premature death is more frequent among overweight people. Only 60% of obese people reach the age of 60 as compared to 90% of slender individuals.
- Metabolic disorders related to over nutrition include gout, diabetes, and an increase of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood. These could lead to secondary degenerative diseases such as atherosclerosis or heart attack.
- High blood pressure, arthritis, increased gastrointestinal problems, sterility, and other physical problems are related to being overweight.
- Cancer is more common in overweight people. A high fat diet is linked to cancer. Rich deserts hamper the immune system. Overweight people generally use sugar substitutes and saccharin. Sugar substitutes and saccharin have been proved by food and drug administrations as cancer producing substances.
CAUSES OF OVERWEIGHT - Little or no breakfast at all.
- Eating in between meals
- Eating very light lunch.
- Taking a heavy meal at night.
- Taking snacks before going to bed.
- Taking very rich or wholesome foods through out the day.
SUGGESTED TREATMENT 1 If you are trying to control your weight may you try the following treatment? - Eat a heavy breakfast at 7am in the morning and be finished before 8am.
- Eat or drink nothing in between meals except water.
- Eat a good lunch or dinner at 1 o'clock and be all finished before 2 o'clock.
- Again eat or drink nothing in between meals except water.
- Eat very little or nothing for supper you may just take a drink of water or just fruits and to go to bed and you will lose weight and gain strength.
SUGGESTED TREATMENT 2 Here are some suggestions that will help you to get rid of unwanted fat and get back to the normal weight that God wanted you to have. * Eat large amounts of low calorie foods such as, tomatoes, lettuce, egg, plant gem, squash, greens, cabbages, cucumbers, berries, cantaloupe, water melons etc. * Eat very moderately of potatoes beans rice and other whole grains, pastas, breads, DO NOT OMIT any of these valuable foods in your diet. * Avoid rich and refined foods like sugar syrup, and sweets. Leave out refined fats from your diet such as margarine or butter, mayonnaise, cooking oils and fatty foods. Each of these foods tends to promote uncontrollable cravings for food. * Eat lots of dry chewy foods and uncooked vegetables and raw fruits Use little or no liquid with meals as it dilutes the digestive fluids. Chew food thoroughly, moistening the mouth with some kind of beverage encourages the swallowing of foods before it is properly masticated. Take small bites Eat slowly * Get daily exercise out of doors. Walking 20 to 30 minutes a day is excellent, especially after meals. Do not just lie or sit down after eating. * Eat little or no supper because the metabolism is slower in the evenings and food is more likely to be stored as fat at that time if not eaten earlier in the day. * Skip one meal or all meals one day a week. * Keep busy on a pleasant useful schedule. * Overeating is curable. It took you time to get overweight, it will take time to take the weight off. * Drink enough water between meals to keep the urine pale (six to eight glasses a day of water is excellent for taking away hunger pangs. * A meal planner often is a good guide for the overweight person to gauge the proper amount of food as in most cases the appetite has been abused and is no longer a safe guide. |
