Who intercedes for us ?
To intercede is to, mediate;to plead in behalf of another. In 1 Timothy 2:3-6 the BIBLE SAYS, "2:3 For this [is] good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
2:5 For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time."
The reason why Jesus qualifies to be our ONLY mediator is because of Hebrews 4:14-16 which says, " 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast [our] profession. 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin.
4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."
Now let us read Romans 8:2-4, " 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." (Spirit of Christ)
In John 14:6, Jesus makes it clear by saying " 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Jesus does not give us another mediator.
I need to make this point clear. Many people do not know who exactly they worship. There is the Spirit of God, (Father) and the Spirit of JESUS (Son).
As we read in John 4:24 the Bible says, "4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
4:24 God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.
Whe should know that we worship the Father in the Spirit of Christ. I want you to read the following verses. In Romans 8:7-11 the Bible says, " 8:7 Because the carnal mind [is] enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
8:10 And if Christ [be] in you, the body [is] dead because of sin; but the Spirit [is] life because of righteousness.
8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."
The Spirit of Christ KNOWS the Spirit of the father and what the Father expect.
The Father draws us to Himself; then we accept Christ as our savior and mediator.
Jesus said in John 6:44, 63-66 "6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him : and I will raise him up at the last day. 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, [they] are spirit, and [they] are life.
6:64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.
6:65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
6:66 From that [time] many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
Now let us read the book of Romans 8:14-17
Christ is the only one who knows the Father's mind and needs in saving humanity. In Romans 8:26-34 we read "8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what [is] the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to [the will of] God.
8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.
8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God [be] for us, who [can be] against us?
8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
8:33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? [It is] God that justifieth.
8:34 Who [is] he that condemneth? [It is] Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Christ, because he was tempted in all points knows our weaknesses. He searcheth our hearts. He presents our requests to the father because he knows the mind of the father and ALSO lived like us. He is now at the right hand side of the father interceding on our hehalf. Romams 8:38-39 says, " 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Did you notice ANGELS, GOD the father and JESUS CHRIST were mentioned? Have you ever wondered why "God the Holy Spirit" is not mentioned, not even once even when the salvation of humanity is discussed? God is Spirit and we should worship Him in truth. The Son speaks to the Father on our behalf and and no other.
Christ is the wisdom of God he searcheth the deep things of God. 1 Corinthians 2:7-11 reads "2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, [even] the hidden [wisdom], which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
2:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known [it], they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
2:10 But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
AMEN.
The question I have asked is not easy to answer as it might seem. YOU ARE NOT AN EXCEPTION.
This is important for us to know now so that we will know how Jesus mediates on our behalf.
If we do not know how they operate we will not know who intercede for us.
"8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with [him], that we may be also glorified together."
I need us to read and hear what Jesus said in Rev.2:23, the Bible says, " 2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
