Proper Attitude in Prayer
What does the Bible say about our attitude in prayer?

In Luke 18:1-7 we read,"18:1 And he spake a parable unto them [to this end], that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 18:2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: 18:3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. 18:4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 18:5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. 18:6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. 18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?"

Ephesians 6:17,18 reads, "6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;"

In Colossians 4:3 the Bible says, " 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; "

In 1 Thessalonians 5:17,18 we read, "5:17 Pray without ceasing. 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

Prayer is not a meaningless function or duty to be done when you have nothing else to do. Pray always and without ceasing.

Prayer is not only for those who are in need. Prayer is our servival.

Come to God every hour with a spirit of dependence, whether you have or have not. Thank the Lord for every thing including your salvation through Jesus; without whom we would have been lost for eternity.

May God be your everything through prayer.
