It is human to stand with the crowd, but it is divine to stand-alone.
We read in Luke 10:21 “In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight. 10:22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and [he] to whom the Son will reveal [him].”
In Luke 18:35-43 we read, “35And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging: 36And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant. 37And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by. 38And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. 39And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou son of David, have mercy on me. 40And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him, 41Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight. 42And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. 43And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.”
Those with “Eye sight” failed to identify Christ But the “Blind man” did. Why did the crowd rebuke the blind man when he called Jesus The Son of David to have mercy on him? The Lord Jesus will Identify Himself as we read His word. Bible history is repeating itself.
The blind man Bartimaeus did not address Jesus as, Jesus of Nazareth but as Jesus, the son of David.
When he shouted, the majority were annoyed and angry. They told him to be quite but the bible says, he shouted louder saying “Jesus, thou son of David have mercy on me.”
The onlookers told Bartimaeus that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. Bartimeaus did not shout with the crowd saying, “Jesus of Nazareth” where Jesus grew up, WHY? Here is my point. During the time of Jesus, in Nazareth there were many children having the same name “Jesus”. The only difference was that THEY WERE NOT OF THE LINE OF DAVID, where Christ the promised messiah was to come. That is why Pontius Pilate had a problem when Barabas was brought to the court and Pilate wanted the crowd to chose whom they wanted released. The MOFFAT TRANSLATION BIBLE, puts it very clearly why Pilate had to describe each of the two accused, for the crowd to make an informed decision.
The MOFFAT TRANSLATION, BIBLE In Matthew 27:15-17 reads as follows,
You see, Pilate had two men with the same name "Jesus". He had to clearly identify them by saying, "........Jesus Bar-abbas or Jesus the-so called Christ?". The people made a willful choice of "Jesus Bar-abbas".
The majority even now, have the capability of choosing Bar-abbas.
Bartimeaus’ knew the Anointed One, the Messiah, the Balm of Gilead, the Saviour of the world, the Creator of mankind, the Son of God, the I am. He knew The saviour, as Jesus Son of David not of Nazareth because he had to distinguish who the Jesus he was talking about. Those who were able to see with both eyes, failed to see what the blind man was able to see.
Nathaniel had the same problem as the crowd.
You see, the Bible in 1 Cor. 2:14 reads, “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.”
The blind man, although he was physically blind, he had spiritual eyes. The blind man saw Jesus, son of David while the onlookers saw Jesus of Nazareth.
The multitude although having eyes was in reality blind and the blind man unlike the multitude, saw who really Jesus was.
It is sad claiming to having spiritual eyesight, but failing to identify Christ.
In John 9:14 we read, “9:41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth. ”
The book of Revelation 5: 5 reads “5And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.”
We also read the following verse:
God the father revealed to Bartimaeus for him to identify Jesus as the son of David. The crowd was not irritated with the voice of one man Bartimaeus, because the crowd itself was making much noise. It was the Devil who was irritated with the TRUTH coming out of the mouth of one man and he turned the whole crowd against him. Jesus rescued Bartimaeus by stopping and healing him. When we talk of heavenly things that are spiritually discerned we irritate the Devil. He then turns the crowds against us.
In the book of Matthew 16:13-17 we read “16:13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
16:14 And they said, Some [say that thou art] John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
16:15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed [it] unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. ”
Jesus knew that all His closest friends the inner circle had no clue of who He was there were just followers because they were called to follow Him. They had heard Him preach, teach and performing outstanding miracles and yet they knew Him not. Jesus in His wisdom knew how dangerous it was for His ministry, if He had left them like with no a clue of who He really was. This is why He, with His wisdom provoked them by asking the two questions:
The answer to this question proved how confused Israel was about he Identity of Christ.
Simon Peter answered this question saying, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus commented Peter and remarked that it was actually not him who answered the question, but the Spirit of God. “And Jesus and said unto him, Blessed thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.”
In John17: 3. we read, “And this is eternal life, that they might know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”
Salvation is not all about escaping eternal death. Like Bartimaeus, it is of paramount importance to know Jesus The Way, The Truth and The life. Knowing Him who was crucified to save us from eternal condemnation. The Father gave us Jesus as a gift for our salvation and to be called the children of the kingdom
In 2 John 1:7 We read, " 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess NOT that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. "
The doctrine of Christ is that Jesus comes into our hearts (FLESH) making us new creatures in His name when we receive Him as our Savior. (This is very important).
The verse does not talk of Jesus coming AS FLESH (As human) because that, no one denies for He was seen walking on earth. The verse is talking of Jesus coming in our flesh (Hearts)as our personal savior. If one denies that he is "Antisalvation"
In COLOSSIANS 1:25-27 we read,"
1:25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
1:26 [Even] the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
1:27 To whom God would make known what [is] the riches of the glory of THIS mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:"
That is why Jesus said in Revelation 2:23 “2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works”
We read inJohn 14:17,18,23,24, the following “14:17 [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and SHALL be in you.
14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him."
We read of Jesus Christ’s duties on our behalf in heaven in the book of Romans 8:1 [There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
8:10 And if Christ [be] in you, the body [is] dead because of sin; but the Spirit [is] life because of righteousness.
8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. ( This is the Spirit of God the Father)
8:12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what [is] the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to [the will of] God. (This is the Spirit of Jesus)
8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
8:33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? [It is] God that justifieth.
8:34 Who [is] he that condemneth? [It is] Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
In 1 Timothy 2:5-6 we read, " 2:5 For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
1 Timothy 4:1,2,6 reads, “4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;”
“4:6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.”
Now the following verses, in 2 John, The Apostle John was saying, anyone who does not believe that Christ comes into our flesh is The AntiChrist.
(The words “God Speed” in King James Version, means greeting.)
In 2 John vs 7-12 we read, “Many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
1:8 look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into [your] house, neither bid him God speed:
1:11 for he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
1:12 Having many things to write unto you, I would not [write] with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.”
Did you notice that the Christ doctrine Identifies The Father and The Son only. If any one does not bring this doctrine he should not receive “God speed” (Greetings) nor enter your house?
In John 8:12-19 we read, “8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
8:13 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.
8:14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, [yet] my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
8:15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
8:16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
8:17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
8:18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.
8:19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.”
Rev 1:18 I [am] he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. 1:19 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter; 1:20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches. 2:1 Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; 2:2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: 2:3 And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. 2:4 Nevertheless I have [somewhat] against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. 2:6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate. 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. 2:8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive; 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and [I know] the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but [are] the synagogue of Satan. 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast [some] of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. 2:12 And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges; 2:16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth [it]. 2:18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet [are] like fine brass; 2:19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last [to be] more than the first. 2:20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. 2:21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. 2:22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. 2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
2:24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.
2:25 But that which ye have [already] hold fast till I come.
2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
2:28 And I will give him the morning star.
2:29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
3:1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
3:2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, [which is] new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and [I will write upon him] my new name.
3:13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
3:22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
1. The first and the last, which was dead, and is alive. ( 2:7)
The whole Bible Jesus identifies Himself and His Father and no one else. It takes Jesus Himself to Identify Himself to us as He did to the seven churches, not Human beings. The doctrine of Trinity is not Biblical. May God the Father and Jesus abide in our hearts as He said.
In John 14:10,23,24 we read, “14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
14:11 Believe me that I [am] in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
14:24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
Now Look at the following verses very, very closely:
John.7:14 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.
7:15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
7:16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
7:17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or [whether] I speak of myself.
7:18 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
Did you notice that Jesus did not say "They that sent me?". He kept refering to one person only, The father.
That is why Jesus to the woman at the well in John 4:24 said, "God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth."
In John 5:30 we read, "I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of THE Father which hath sent me."
This required a spiritual vision. The Blind man had it but those with eyes missed it.
"
Prov 29:18 reads, "Where [there is] no vision, the people perish:"
