THE WORD OF GOD

What is truth? This is the question Pontius Pilate asked. He asked rhetorically as he turned away from the battered and bloody man standing before him.The man who was, and still is the answer to the question, Jesus the Christ.
Each person has the choice to relate to the truth other wise, as scripture makes it clear 2 Corinthians 13:8 reads, we cannot do anything against the truth but only for the truth

The phrase, the truth appears about 85 times in scripture. The qualifying article THE means, there is no other truth . The Word of God is THE TRUTH and thus, in regard to any particular verse, there is one, and only one true meaning, the meaning intended by God. It is up to us to learn and utilize the inherent keys to the word's interpretation to arrive at that true meaning

In Matthew 15:1-9 and Mark7:1-13 Jesus contrasted truth with tradition. Replying to the hypocritical Jewish religious leaders who critisized his disciples for failing to adhere to one of the man's extraneous requirements they had added to God's word,he said: Thus you nulllify the word of God for the sake of your tradition.

Jesus said what originates from the minds of men and contradicts the truth nullifies the word of God. Believing error does not give one the benefits of believing truth and may well bring consequences instead. We can deduce the same thing from John 8:31, 32: "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free." What is the converse to that? Wouldnt it be that, believing error puts you in bondage to some degree? yes, and that is how tradition nullifies truth. Truth works in life, traditions dont.
In John 14:6 we read, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

John 1:1-14 reads, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.He came unto his own, and his own received him not.But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. "

The Bible is very clear when it says in Romans 8:14 " For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."

Luke 8:11 says, "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."
John 10:34-36 reads, "Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? "

It was a blessing to have Jesus among them. Unfortunately they did not believe he was the Word or the Son of God.
What ever Jesus was saying, it was from the father. God was speaking through Jesus from creation. In Hebrews 1:1-3 the Bible says,"God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of [his] glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;"

Luke 10:21-24 says, "In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight. All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and [he] to whom the Son will reveal [him]. And he turned him unto [his] disciples, and said privately, Blessed [are] the eyes which see the things that ye see: For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen [them]; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard [them]. "
In the book of 1 Peter 1:10,11 we read, "Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace [that should come] unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow."

Did you notice there are ONLY TWO who know each other in heaven? The father and the Son. There is no third person. If there was, Jesus did not mention him. These were the only two who created the world and said " Let us make man in our image"
Did you also notice the Son reveals THE FATHER and in turn THE FATHER reveals the SON? Read again in Luke 10:23 "And he turned him unto [his] disciples, and said privately, Blessed [are] the eyes which see the things that ye see:". When the Father was revealing the Son He turned him (Jesus) to face his disciples, and the Father spoke privately through Jesus saying "Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see: for I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things that ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them"

The King James Version Bible, makes it very clear that He turned him and spoke privately. We always change the meaning and say, "Jesus turned himself" because its difficult to believe God the Father turned Jesus . Although the disciples heard Jesus speaking, it was the Father speaking through Jesus, His word. When the voice of God spoke through Jesus, the world was created.

When Peter replied Jesus, we read in Matthew 16:15-17 "He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?.And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.And Jesus answered and said unto him,Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed [it] unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven."

In 1 Timothy 3:16 we read, "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory."

May God bless you as you study His word.

Amen
